Already Xmas ! 12/09/2009
I choose to not get into the Christmas stress. What I decided to do for the Christmas break is : meditate. I am going on a 10 days Vipassana meditation retreat, 10 days with me, myself and I. I will experience 10 days of total silence, simply breathing in and out, focussing on my breath, practising how to quiet my mind. I am going to learn the skills of training my brain muscle and embodying self-discipline that is for sure waking up at 4.30am every morning, no talking, no eyes contact (and I'm not a morning person). Nothing overly exciting quite frankly but rather useful when you own a business and that business is you, yourself and yours! We are always in motion, moving from one place to the other and from one thought to another. Moving from your boss's office to yours and from your car to the house, from the office to the shop often running and rushing forgetting to take a breath... Movements are repetitive and constant whereas stillness is a way of being that we forget to experience and stillness is where our power resides. What ever you choose to do for Chritmas take a moment to breath and to be rather than doing and rushing from one dinner party to another. Be a "human being" rather than a "human doing.
